You have read the topic, revised your notes and maybe even watched the lectures. But when you sit down to write a theory answer, you are not always sure what to include or how to begin. Does that sound familiar?
DNB Orthopedics theory preparation can be challenging, especially when the syllabus is large and the exam is getting closer. Between hospital duties, clinical work and revision, finding time to cover everything is not easy.
And honestly, reading a topic several times does not always mean you will be able to write a good answer in the exam. You also need to practise how to present what you know.
That is why Conceptual Orthopedics has introduced DNB Theory Edge, a programme designed to help you approach theory preparation in a more organised way.
What Can You Learn from 10 Years of DNB Theory Papers?
When time is limited, deciding what to revise and how to practise can become another challenge. This is where previous year papers can be useful.
DNB Theory Edge covers 10 years of DNB Orthopaedics theory papers, with experienced faculty, including former DNB examiners.
Working through these papers can help you understand how questions are framed, recognise topics that have appeared repeatedly and identify areas that need more revision.
The programme focuses on:
- Previous year papers: Go through 10 years of DNB theory questions in a systematic manner.
- Important topics: Use past papers to guide your revision and identify recurring themes.
- Question patterns: Understand what a question expects you to explain rather than writing everything you remember about a topic.
- Faculty guidance: Learn from experienced teachers, including former DNB examiners.
- Answer writing: Practise arranging your points in a clear and relevant order.
Of course, previous year questions cannot tell you exactly what will appear in the next exam. But practising them can help you spot gaps in your preparation and get more comfortable with theory answers.
The Classes Have Started. What About Your Preparation?
The DNB Theory Edge programme started, but you still can join the classes.
With the November DNB Orthopedics examination approaching, this is a good time to look at your preparation honestly.
Are you spending most of your time reading, but not getting enough practice writing answers? Are there topics you keep postponing because you are unsure how to prepare them? If so, adding a more structured approach to your revision may help.
You do not have to start everything from scratch. Use the time you have to revisit important concepts, practise questions and work on areas where you feel less confident.
DNB Theory Edge is already underway, so check the course schedule and plan to join the upcoming sessions.
Who Can Join DNB Theory Edge?
The programme is exclusively available to Conceptual Orthopedics Premium Subscribers.

Make Your Theory Revision Count
DNB Theory Edge is a new initiative by Conceptual Orthopedics, powered by eConceptual, to help Orthopaedics residents prepare for theory through previous year papers and guidance from experienced faculty.
As the exam approaches, you may feel that there is still a lot left to cover. Instead of worrying about the entire syllabus at once, focus on what you can work on today.
Revise a topic. Attempt a question. Check whether your answer is clear and complete. Then move on to the next one.
Small, focused efforts can make your remaining preparation more productive.
The classes have started. Take a look at the schedule and make the most of the upcoming sessions.
