LEARN BEYOND THE BOOKS. PRACTISE BEYOND THE BASICS. GROW BEYOND RESIDENCY.

This October, take your orthopedic learning a step further.

Residency is where you build the foundation for your future as an orthopedic professional. From understanding complex concepts and discussing clinical cases to learning surgical principles and exploring new techniques, every learning opportunity adds to your growth.

At Conceptual Orthopedics, we bring residents and surgeons opportunities to learn from experienced faculty, strengthen their fundamentals, and explore specialised areas through focused offline learning.

This edition features the 4th CO Trauma Pinnacle Course, followed by the upcoming:
1. C.O.R.A. – Robotic Arthroplasty Course (20–22 November 2026)
2. CO Hand & Microsurgical Skills Course (12–13 December 2026).
These programmes offer opportunities to deepen your knowledge, explore specialised surgical techniques, and learn beyond the classroom through focused, hands-on sessions.

Explore what’s coming up, be part of the Conceptual Orthopedics community, and make every learning opportunity count towards your growth as an orthopedic resident or surgeon.

SEPTEMBER HIGHLIGHT

4th CO TRAUMA PINNACLE COURSE

Don’t Just Learn the Technique. Understand It. Practise It. Master the Principles Behind It.

Trauma surgery demands sound clinical judgment, technical precision, and the ability to make informed decisions in challenging situations. Knowing the steps of a procedure is important, but understanding the principles behind those steps is what helps you approach surgery more methodically.

The CO Trauma Pinnacle Course is an advanced offline learning programme designed for orthopedic residents, junior residents, and surgeons who want to strengthen their trauma knowledge through practical training, faculty interaction, and real-world case discussions.

Unlike learning that remains limited to books or recorded lectures, this course brings participants closer to the practical aspects of trauma surgery through demonstrations, hands-on sawbone exercises, and case-based learning.

What Makes This Course Valuable?

01 | CO Advanced Simulation Training (COST)

See surgical principles demonstrated in practice and understand the reasoning behind routine trauma procedures. Learn not just what is done, but why it is done and how the underlying principles guide surgical decisions.

02 | Hands-on Sawbone Exercises

Move beyond observation and practise surgical techniques step by step. Working with sawbone models and surgical instrumentation helps participants understand the importance of proper technique, recognise potential errors, and appreciate how small details can affect procedural outcomes.

03 | Real-World, Case-Based Discussions

Explore regional fracture cases, develop your own management plans, and discuss your approach with experienced faculty. These discussions encourage clinical reasoning, decision-making, and a more structured approach to trauma management.

WHY OFFLINE, HANDS-ON LEARNING MATTERS

You can read about a surgical technique. You can watch it being performed. But understanding its finer details through demonstration, practising the steps yourself, and discussing your decisions with experienced faculty adds another dimension to learning.

That is the value of practical training.

For orthopedic residents and junior surgeons, these experiences create opportunities to question, practise, correct, and refine their approach in a structured learning environment.

As highlighted by Dr. Shailesh Pai , the CO Trauma Pinnacle Course continues to evolve through participant and faculty feedback, with a strong emphasis on surgical fundamentals, practical exercises, and meaningful clinical discussions.

The objective is to build a stronger understanding of trauma principles that participants can carry forward into their clinical practice.
