~ On the Path to Becoming a Better Surgeon ~

I believe that every patient who walks, or is carried, into a hospital deserves to feel truly seen. Not just as a case or a diagnosis, but as a person with a life waiting to be reclaimed. I aspire to be someone who helps make that possible for as many people as I can.

My fellowship in Conceptual Orthopedics has been a truly career-defining journey. It has given me the rare opportunity to rebuild my understanding from the ground up, strengthening both my fundamentals and my perspective as a clinician. Through this platform, I’ve had the privilege of learning from stalwarts like Prof. Dr. S.M. Tuli, Prof. Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Prof. Dr. Anil Dhal, and Prof. Dr. Ravinder Dimri, names that have long inspired generations in orthopedics.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Harpreet Singh and Dr. Apurv Mehra, I have been exposed to a wide spectrum of cases spanning trauma, arthroplasty, and arthroscopy. Their teaching goes far beyond routine instruction, with remarkable patience, they have guided me through core concepts, practical decision-making, and hands-on surgical skills, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

As Dr. Apurv often reminds us, becoming a surgeon is only part of the journey, what truly defines us is how we treat our patients beyond the operating room. The empathy we show and the way we communicate matter just as much as surgical expertise. He leads by example, instilling a level of confidence in us that is difficult to put into words, a confidence that pushes us to achieve more than we thought possible.

Dr. Harpreet’s expertise in shoulder surgery has been transformative for me. It has fundamentally reshaped how I evaluate and manage shoulder conditions. His mentorship style is incredibly open and encouraging, every question is welcomed, every doubt is addressed, and every discussion adds depth to our understanding. The environment here is free from negativity, fostering honest dialogue and independent thinking.

Being a fellow at Conceptual Orthopedics is a privilege in the truest sense. It offers access to a rich academic ecosystem — from comprehensive courses to interactions with distinguished faculty across specialties, along with engaging discussions that continually expand clinical insight.

True to its guiding principle — “Learning Never Ends” — this fellowship has reinforced my belief that growth in medicine is a lifelong journey. I feel genuinely grateful to be a part of Conceptual Orthopedics.
